People living with autism see the world different. Our client – the “Út a Mosolyért” foundation wanted to educate people about autism spectrum disorder. The broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication are difficult to show in one TV campaign – so we used a strong, symbol sharing the point of view of an autistic person. The AUT-stronaut campaign shows that understanding is one of if not the most important thing about autism, because if we understand why autistic people act different we can accept their reactions and help them.
